Cornwall Council launches Warm and Well scheme

Warm and Well Cornwall (funded by Warm Homes Fund, SSE and Social Landlords) is looking for people and homes without central heating. Cornwall has a high level (around 12% or 31,000 households) of fuel poverty.

Cornwall Council can help private owners and private tenants that have a health issue with first time central heating. Social landlord tenants can also apply, through their landlord.

Warm and Well Cornwall is aimed at anyone in poor health or at risk of ill health, or with underlying health issues, or caring for a vulnerable person or worried about your home being cold or damp. Under our Cornwall Devolution Deal we have adopted new powers to help those households in greatest need. Please note you do not have to be in receipt of a benefit to be eligible.

Keeping warm is easy while the sun is shining, but winter isn’t far away! It is the perfect time to apply to get work done on your home. If you were cold and shivery in your home last winter we could make that a distant memory. The scheme has got off to a good start fixing over 100 cold and damp houses in just 100 working days.
