Wainhomes lodge an appeal against the refusal of planning permission for their proposed development in Probus

On Monday 14 April, Cornwall Council Central Planning Committee considered the application by Wainhomes Ltd. for 90 houses on land off Tregony Road, Probus. The parish council and two local residents from Probus spoke against the application, as did I as your local councillor. There were no speakers in support of the application apart from the Wainhomes representative.

The committee expressed their concern about several aspects of the proposal but particularly in respect of the highways issue. The committee voted unanimously to refuse the application.

It was always anticipated that Wainhomes would appeal against the Cornwall Council decision. It has now been confirmed that Wainhomes have appealed. The Department for Communities and Local Government will appoint a planning inspector to hear the appeal. At this stage, it is expected that the appeal will be heard by means of an informal hearing. Any comments already made on the original application will be forwarded to the Planning Inspectorate and will be taken into account in decidiing the appeal. However, if you wish to make further comments or modify or withdraw previous comments, you can do so; or even if you just wish to emphasise the same comments as you made before, you can also do so. You can do so as follows:

Online through the Government planning portal.

Their home page is at government planning portal
