Wainhomes development update February 2016

Planning permission was granted on appeal in May 2015 for the construction of 90 houses on the land off Tregony Road, Probus.

In January 2016, diggers started work on the site. However, this is not the start of construction; it is part of the pre-start, archeological investigation work that has to be carried out. A layer of soil is being carefully removed and all historical items are being removed or details recorded before being left in situ.

Meanwhile, Wainhomes has now submitted a revised planning application for a slightly smaller number of houses (86 vs. 90) with a much lower percentage of affordable housing. The site layout has also been altered.

The revised application is being considered by the planning officer. Probus Parish Council will make their comments on the application at their parish council meeting on Monday 22 January.

Details of the revised application can be viewed on the Council's planning portal. Search for application number PA15/11991.

I have some concerns about the revised application and I have detailed these in an email to the planning officer, see copy of email.

I will update this website as and when further information about the application becomes available.
