Council confirms appointment of Paul Masters as Interim Chief Executive

At the Full Council meeting of 12 February, councillors voted to ratify the appointment of Paul Masters, deputy chief executive, to the position of Interim Chief Executive. He will take up the position when the present chief executive, Kevin Lavery, leaves the Council in March to take up the position of chief executive of Wellington City Council in New Zealand.

After the new Council is elected in May, councillors will decide on what to do about appointing a permanent chief executive.
