Eunomia report on alternatives to incinerator shown to be flawed

The Cornwall Waste Forum, St Dennis branch, had commissioned a study by a firm of consultants, Eunomia, to look at whether or not there were better alternatives to the incinerator proposal. The Eunomia report seemed to indicate that the Council could save up to £320 million over the lifetime of the incinerator contract by terminating the contract and pursuing different options for waste disposal.

At a meeting of the Waste Development Advisory Panel on 17 December, the Council's officers gave a presentation demonstrating many flaws in the Eunomia report. Their conclusion, with which I agree, is that the Eunomia report does not provide any reasonable arguments for changing the Council's decision to press ahead with the incinerator at St Dennis.
