Grampound Parish Council vacancy

A vacancy has arisen on Grampound Parish Council as a result of the resignation of an existing parish councillor. If 10 electors of the parish (town ward) request an election before 13 February 2014, an election will be held to select a new councillor. If an election is not duly called, the parish council will then be free to co-opt a new member.

Anyone interested in joining the parish council (resident within the parish of Grampound with Creed or within a 3 miles radius of it should contact the parish clerk for further details. See formal notice below.

UPDATE 13 February

Cornwall Council Electoral Services have advised that an election has been requested by 10 electors of the parish. A notice will be issued shortly announcing the election. This now means that anyone wishing to join the parish council will need to be nominated and stand for election: the parish council cannot co-opt a new member. Further details of the election process will follow shortly.
