Grampound Fore Street air quality: public consultation period 20 February to 17 April; public drop-in session 8 March Cornwall Council Environmental Health team has been carrying out monitoring of air quality in Fore Street, Grampound, for the past two years. At 3 of the locations, readings for nitrogen dioxide are below the level that would trigger action; but at 2 of the sites (outside Leahurst and Brouard Cottage) levels have been in breach of the government’s objective of 40 micrograms per cubic metre (2015: Leahurst 50.1, Brouard Cottage 40.4). Environmental Health are likely to declare Grampound as an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) – this is likely to happen within the next couple of months. Other AQMAs in Cornwall include Truro, St Austell, Camborne, Tideford, Gunnislake. A formal public consultation will be held running from 20 February to 17 April 2017. A public drop-in session will be held in Grampound Village Hall on Wednesday 8 March from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cornwall Council officers will be present to answer questions.
