Cornwall Council makes further cutbacks on senior management Following the reduction in the number of corporate directors of the Council to just three earlier in 2014, it is now intended to reduce the number of Heads of Service from 22 to 14. This is all part and parcel of the major reduction in budgets that have resulted from the significant cutbacks in funding provided by central government to local councils and the freezing of council tax for 3 consecutive years and then restricting this year's rise to 2.5%. Cuts in staff at lower levels of the Council will continue to take place over the next year.
