Consultation on proposed changes to Dog Control Orders in relation to beaches in Cornwall The Government has introduced new legislation to control dogs in public spaces and Cornwall Council has to decide how to apply the new legislation on beaches in Cornwall. It is proposed to change the existing Dog Control Orders (DCOs) currently in place, that control dogs on designated beaches in Cornwall, with a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO). It is proposed to incorporate the same conditions, times, dates and durations, that are currently in place, in the new PSPO - meaning dogs would be allowed on designated beaches at the same times as they are allowed now. Before issuing the necessary Orders for the beaches, the Council is consulting with the public, whether they are dog owners or not, to see what they think about the controls that are in place regarding dogs on beaches. For futher information and to take part in the consultation, see details on the Council's website.
